Spreading their message of hope and compassion through advocacy and outreach activities to those struggling with addiction.
Our Foundation works tirelessly to contribute to the greater good through scholarships for transitional living, providing awareness for substance abuse, and sharing resources with families affected by substance abuse.
About the Foundation
The foundation was formed to honor the Memory of Jace by his mother, Julie Waters. It was created to help provide a residential sober living environment for those who have completed a recovery program to help them practice life skills for a successful transition back into society.
Jace’s Story
Jace Waters lost his life to a heroin overdose on May 2, 2016. He struggled with opioid addiction for 12 years. His use of drugs began in his senior year of high school with a sports injury to his back. Jace went to college but had to drop out his Junior year due to his drug use. He struggled with jobs, relationships, and his own feelings of failure. Jace was arrested several times and entered several treatment centers to help with his addiction. In one of the treatment centers, Jace turned his life back over to Jesus and said that freedom is only found in God. Jace shared his trust in God with others in jail and rehabs. He shared that he wanted to help others with addiction by establishing recovery homes and sharing his story of hope. The Foundation is determined to do just that.
The Jace Waters Foundation is committed to investing its expertise and resources in order to further achieve its cause. Since 2017, they’ve been supporting thier community members in a variety of ways. Their Hub City Classic 5k/10k Run has been a huge success. The community has been so generous and they doubled our goal. They are excited to have the Hub City Classic as an annual event to raise awareness.
The Foundation is also reaching out to scholarship those who’ve completed a recovery program into transitional living houses in their area. Having a transitional living house in Baldwin County is the Foundation’s ultimate goal.
