Entertaining the Kids as a Work at Home Parent

March 17, 2020

Entertaining the kids as a work at home parent can be challenging.  We have some great ideas that will help keep them busy and allow us to actually get some work done!

While typing this one-handed – with my 6 month old in my lap and a bottle in the other hand – the realization struck that I would have to continue planning their daily activities.

Not being the perfect parent, there was a TON of screen time. The kids can only watch so much TV so I had to think a bit outside of the box.

Also, not being the most creative person, coming up with ideas off the top of my head is, well, not really my “thing”.  Pinterest has been my best friend!  From science experiments, arts and crafts, sensory and even fun learning activities, Pinterest is a great resource for keeping the kids busy. Below are some helpful links for fellow work at home parents.

You can get lost surfing Pinterest so pin away!

Last but certainly not least, research indoor fun places for your kids to play. Almost everywhere has free wifi these days so you can get your work done and not feel guilty about keeping them cooped up in the house.

Try taking the kids to an indoor bounce house

or a local indoor playground at least once a week

to help get their energy out while you work.

Most likely they will crash when you get home

so you can get even more work done. WIN WIN!
